Hosea 13:4-12

 What is it that stirs up God's anger?
Last time (Hosea 13:1-3) we saw Israel's unfaithfulness, but it isn't just their idolatry.
This time we see another sin... what is it?

What are we reminded of in verse 4?

This verse quotes Exodus 20:2-3.
What does God say in Exodus 20:4?
How is God described and what does that tell us about Him?

How are God's past actioned described in verse 5?

The more God gives to Israel, the more Israel seems to think of themselves and their own abilities.
How do you see this being addressed in verse 6?


Idolatry, pride, and one other thing all kindle God's wrath - unbelief.


 [Activity] Read 1 Samuel 8:4-18 where Israel asks for a king.
What do we learn about God from this story?

{SEVEN CHURCHES} #1

  The Lord Who Speaks_   Revelation 1:9-20   We  don’t  tend to get many letters these days. We get emails, text messages,  WhatsApp  and other electronic messages, but rarely  a handwritten, pen-and-paper letter.    I tend to save any good ones I get... notes from when Leah was little. Letters that encourage or bless me.   I’ll keep them in my  bedside  drawer or  tucked  into books on our shelves.
